Mufti Muhammed Ismail Haffejee

After successfully memorising the Quran in Madrassah Islamiyyah Benoni, Mufti Muhammad Ismail Haffejee went on to pursue his Aalim Faadil at Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi under the tutelage of Justice Mufti Muhammad Taqi Uthmani.

Mufti Muhammad holds a BA Hons in Semitic Languages and Culture (cum laude) from the University of Johannesburg and a BComm degree in Private Law and Economics from the University of South Africa.

After being awarded a scholarship to pursue post-graduate studies in Islamic Finance, Mufti Muhammad went on to succcessfully complete a Master of Science degree in Islamic Finance from INCEIF with specialisation in research for Islamic Finance using econometric techniques. Mufti Muhammad lectures Islamic Commercial Law at various higher learning instituions in South Africa and features regularly in the media.

Mufti Muhammad has more than a decade of experience in teaching and consulting businesses and corporations on matters finance, economics and ethics.

Mufti Mahmood Suliman

Mufti Mahmood serves in the Fatwa Department at the Darul Ihsan Research Centre in Durban preparing and issuing Islamic juristic rulings.

After completing his IGCSE from Cambridge at Al Nur School, Gaborone, he started his Aalimiyyah Course. In 2019, he completed his Aalimiyah Course at Madrasah Arabiyyatul Islaamiyyah in Azaadville, Johannesburg.

In 2021, he completed a two-year specialization course in Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh and Fatwa) from Darul Iftaa Mahmudiyyah, Durban, under the guidance and tutorship of world renowned, Mufti Ebrahim Desai (Rahimahullah), specializing specifically in Islamic Finance.
